OPPO A56 5G with Dimensity 700 SoC silently announced in China

OPPO has quietly introduced a new 5G budget smartphone in China dubbed A56 5G. The device is listed on the firm website with few of its specs revealed, but there is no much details on its availability. Also, we do not know when it will be released in international markets, although, order has begin today in China.

Since we are not provided with the full specs sheet, here is what we know about the A56 5G: It comes with a 6.5-inch LCD screen with a waterdrop notch that accommodate a selfie camera. The resolution is pretty standard at HD+, and there is no mention of any glass protection.

Powering the phone is Mediatek's Dimensity 700 octa-core chipset, which is accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. The local storage can be further expanded via microSD card, and there is a dedicated dual SIM slot available that can accept two SIM cards at a time.

Photography is handled by a 13-megapixel snapper pinned to the rear, accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth camera for portrait. OPPO is not generous about the selfie too as you will only find an 8-megapixel camera at the front. Since we are not seeing any fingerprint sensor at the back, it seem to be mounted to the side.

Connectivity you can expect include Bluetooth 5, WiFi 802.11ac (dual band), Dual 4G VoLTE, GPS, and USB Type-C. Powering the A56 5G is a 5,000mAh battery that can be fast-charge with the 10W charger provided in the box. Color OS 11.1 based on Android runs the software and there is NFC support.

The OPPO A56 5G will be sold for CN¥1599 (US$250) according to the officials.
