Vivo Y15s

Update:

The Vivo Y15s has launched in the Philippines as Vivo Y15a. Unlike the Y15s, the Y15a have 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Moreover, it runs the full-fledge Android 11 and not the Go Edition as the former. Apart from these few differences, other specifications (including the colors) are the same. It is selling for PHP 7,999 (US$159) in the Philippines.

It's nearly everyday we get to witness the launching of a brand new smartphone from either OPPO or Vivo, both owned by the same parent company of course. Today, it is Vivo turn to launch a new device which they've just did in Singapore. The Y15s joins the firm entry-level lineup with a 6.51-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. No screen protection whatsoever.

At the rear resides dual camera setup - a 13-megapixel (f/2.2) primary camera and a secondary 2-megapixel (f/2.4) depth camera for portraits. Selfie can be taken using the 8-megapixel (f/2.0) camera equipped inside the waterdrop notch above the display. These cameras can record videos in Full HD (1080p) and nothing more.

Let's take a look at what is inside. Driving the hardware is a Mediatek Helio P35 chipset that is based on a 12nm process, clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There is a provision for an external storage, so you can insert a microSD card to further expand the inbuilt storage if you so wish. The storage used is eMMC 5.1, which means you should expect slow boot up speed and data transfer rate.
