OPPO first foldable smartphone "Find N" goes official


OPPO at its INNO Day 2021 event held earlier today launched its first foldable smartphone, the Find N. The device, according to the firm, took four years of extensive research and development, and six generations of prototypes before it came into the limelight.

It is unlike any other product in the market as it offer distinct features and cutting-edge design. The OPPO Find N has a proprietary Flexion Hinge with a unique water-drop design that incorporate 136 components with extreme precision of up to 0.01 millimetres for fluid operation.

There is also FlexForm Mode, which is a sort of laptop mode, that allow the device to freely stand when unfolded between an angle of 50-120 degrees. This allow it to be used in a wide range of scenarios such as when taking note, when video chatting, or when taking time-lapse photo.

OPPO Find N foldable screen

The inner display is 7.1-inch LTPO AMOLED with a standard 8.4:9 fullscreen aspect ratio, while the outer display has a 5.49-inch AMOLED screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. The processor that powered the OPPO Find N is Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, and it comes bundled with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. There is also a 12GB RAM/512GB storage option.

It have three cameras at the back, one camera above the outer display, and one camera above the inner display, making a total number of five cameras. Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual SIM support, and 4500mAh battery with fast wired and wireless charging.

The new OPPO foldable phone comes in White, Purple, and Black colors. The 8GB/256GB version costs CN¥7699 (US$1200), while the 12GB/512GB version will be sold for CN¥8999 (US$1400). It will be up for sale from December 23rd in China, but it can be pre-order from today.
