Honor Magic V: World's First Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Powered Foldable Smartphone Official

The long-awaiting first Honor foldable smartphone is here! Today, the firm unwrapped its latest offering in China, which is the company's first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 device and the world's first foldable smartphone to be powered by the chipset. We are talking about the Honor Magic V of course.

The device has a 7.9-inch Full HD+ inner foldable OLED screen and a 6.45-inch Full HD+ cover screen that is AMOLED. Both screens are made by BOE, the firm revealed. It uses a water drop hinge that comprises of 213 parts, this makes sure that the foldable screen is gapless when folded (or closed).

The firm said that the hinge have a lifespan of 200,000 based on tests done in the lab. The Honor Magic V is jam packed when it comes to photography - there are five different cameras in total on the device, three 50MP cameras on the rear, a 42MP camera above the foldable screen, and a 42MP above the cover screen.

It will be available in different varieties—in Orange with leather back, in Black with AG glass, and in Silver with strip patterned glass back.
