Vivo Y55 5G launches in Taiwan with Dimensity 700, FHD+ screen

Vivo Y55 5G

Entry-level Vivo Y55 5G was launched today in Taiwan, which is a 5G variant of the Y55s that was introduced last year.

It brings a Dimensity 700 octa-core chipset that is clocked at 2.3GHz, paired with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. As its naming implies, the smartphone fully support 5G. There are two SIM slots available, both of which are capable of receiving 4G VoLTE signal as well.

The Vivo Y55 5G is a mid-budget device - this means mid specs and mid performance, but it will definitely be of value for people that desire not so much. It has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The display supports only 60Hz refresh rate, so it is meant to piss gamers off.

Three rear-facing cameras are equipped at the back - the main has a 50MP (f/1.8) sensor, while the depth and the macro cameras have 2MP sensors. Inside the waterdrop notch at the top center of the screen is an 8MP (f/1.8) selfie snapper. A fingerprint scanner located at the side for biometrics.

The smartphone has a 3.5mm audio jack that double up as an antenna for the FM radio pre-installed. Android 11-based Funtouch 12 is the operating system that is installed out-of-the-box, while a 5000mAh non-removable battery is mounted to the back with supports of 18W fast charging.
