Infinix Zero 5G: Infinix first 5G smartphone officially announced

After few days of its announcement, Infinix has introduced the Zero 5G in India and we now have its official pricing details. The smartphone will be available for Rs 19,999 in the region, which translates to about US$260. Sales will begin on Flipkart from February 18th.

Infinix has officially announce its first 5G smartphone called Zero 5G, which brings global 5G network bands to the local and international markets. It took the firm quite some time to catch up with the latest trend as we have seen other major brands dominate the 5G smartphone market for the past several months. But it's good to see Infinix moving with the tide.

The Zero 5G is powered by the Dimensity 900 6nm chipset, which is a very capable processor. 8GB RAM and 128GB storage accompany the chipset, both of which can be expanded. The later can be expanded via the built-in microSD expansion slot, while users can 3GB virtual RAM to the former under the phone settings.

Occupying the front is a 6.78-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display also have 240Hz touch sampling rate and 500 nits brightness. However, it does not have any screen protection.

Moving to the back, at the top-left corner is an island that accommodates three separate cameras - the first has a 48MP sensor, the second has a 13MP telephoto camera with 2X optical zoom, while the tertiary is a 2MP depth camera.

The main camera can record 4K videos, while others cannot. There are quad LED flash to aid for night photography. For selfie, there is a 16MP camera mounted above the display, also paired with dual LED flash. The Infinix Zero 5G is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, which also double up as the power button.

There are no stereo speakers, but the 3.5mm audio jack is present, which also serve as an antenna for the built-in FM radio. Other connectivity included are Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11ax (dual-band), Dual 4G VoLTE, GPS, and USB Type-C. Dedicated Dual SIM slot lets users insert two SIM cards at a time.

Battery included is 5,000mAh, and it can be charged using the 33W charger included in the retail package.

The smartphone comes in three different colors, Cosmic Black, Skylight Orange, and Horizon Blue. The official pricing details is yet to be reveal, but we expect Infinix to announce it when it go on sale in the coming days/weeks.
