Nokia C21 and C21 Plus announced, coming to Europe and the UK

Nokia C21

HMD Global earlier today announced two new budget smartphones, namely Nokia C21 and Nokia C21 Plus. These are made to cater to the low-segment of the market, so we don't expect much and you shouldn't expect much when it comes to features and performance.

These runs Android 11 (Go Edition) and comes in three different configurations - 2GB/32GB, 3GB/32GB, and 4GB/64GB, with the price starting at €99 (US$110) for the C21 and €119 (US$132) for the C21 Plus. Both smartphones are powered Unisoc SC9863A octa-core chipset with IMG8322 GPU.

At the rear, the vanilla model sports a single 8MP autofocus camera with LED, while the Plus model have dual 13MP main + 2MP depth cameras. The 5MP selfie cameras on the two devices are the same, and it is only capable of recording HD (720p) videos only.

Their similarities also includes their display. The Nokia C21 and C21 Plus both have 6.5-inch HD+ (1600x720) LCD screens with 20:9 aspect ratio and V-shaped notch centered above the display. HMD Global boasted that the display is protected by toughened glass, although the specific brand of what it is was not mentioned.

The two smartphones have dedicated dual SIM slots and microSD slots to further expand their limited storage. They have 3.5mm audio jacks and FM radio too.

Let's talk about their differences - the Nokia C21 does not have fingerprint sensor but instead relied on Face Unlock for security, while the Nokia C21 Plus has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security. The Plus model is water and dust resistant certified with IP52 rating, which the vanilla model lacks.

The cheapest of the two, the C21, is powered by a 3000mAh battery with 5W charging supports. The C21 Plus, however, comes in two battery sizes, 4000mAh and 5050mAh, depending on the region of availability. These can be fast-charge using the 10W charger provided in the box.
