OPPO A76 launches in Malaysia with Snapdragon 680 6nm chipset

OPPO has quietly unveiled a new budget smartphone in Malaysia under its "A" series portfolio called A76. The device does not support 5G, but instead only offer 4G and 3G. That's probably because it is packing a Snapdragon 680 6nm chipset, which does not have 5G modem. Coupled with the processor is 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The OPPO A76 does not have microSD slot either, but there is a dual SIM slot available that can accommodate two SIM cards at a time. While the storage is not expandable, the RAM can be virtually expanded by adding 6GB additional RAM under the phone settings, which is taken from the limited internal storage.

It runs ColorOS 11 that is based on Android 11, and it has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone without entering password or passcode. Behind are dual cameras - a 13MP main and a 2MP depth cameras, accompanied by a LED flash. Equipped at the front is an 8MP selfie camera. These cameras can only record 1080p videos because that is the maximum resolution that the processor supported.

Back to the front, occupying this area is a 6.56-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The screen can go as bright as 600 nits, and the overall screen-to-body ratio is 83.1%. In addition, the display has a 20:9 aspect ratio. No glass protection such as Gorilla Glass was mentioned, so it probably does not come with one.

The OPPO A76 have 3.5mm audio jack and two microphones for voice and video calls. Other connectivity available are Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual band), GPS/GLONASS, and USB Type-C. It has a single loudspeaker, and is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging supports.
