The iPhone SE (2022) is officially here and it is classic as usual

iPhone SE 2022

Apple held an event on Tuesday where it introduced its latest hardware products, but we'll only be talking about one, which is the iPhone SE (2022). This is the first iPhone that Apple will launch in 2022, and it is made to succeed the 2020 model.

The iPhone SE is the cheapest iPhone that money can buy—it is not built or made to contend with the firm's mainstream devices or series. It is basic in the essence that it is small, compact, and have low specs and features that justify its cheap price tag.

Its body design is explicitly different too, not modern but classic. But Apple has stepped up a bit to make it more purposeful by including its latest chip, the A15 Bionic, which brings 5G supports. Moreover, the iPhone SE (2022) has a premium design mainly made of glass and aluminium.

Let's talk about its technical specs: the new Apple smartphone features a 4.7-inch HD Retina screen that boasts of 1400:1 contrast ratio and 326ppi pixel density. As already mentioned, it is powered by the A15 Bionic 5nm chipset, which has 16‑core Neural Engine baked in.

There are only two cameras on the iPhone SE (2022) - a 12MP wide-angle camera with f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS) at the rear, and a 7MP camera with f/2.2 aperture at the front. The rear camera can record 4k videos and 1080p slow-motion videos, while the front camera can only record 1080p videos.

For biometric security, we have a Touch ID fingerprint sensor equipped at the bottom of the display. Notably, the device is IP67 water and dust proof certified, and it have dual stereo speakers. Also, the iPhone SE (2022) boots iOS 15, the latest you can find on any iPhone at the moment.

Apart from 5G, you also get Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), LTE, NFC with reader mode, and GPS supported with GLONASS. It measures 138.4×67.3×7.3mm and weigh 144 grams. According to Apple, its built-in Li-ion battery can deliver 15 hours of video playback in a single charge. Although, as usual, its exact battery capacity is not revealed.

The iPhone SE (2022) will be available in three different storage versions, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB, with the price starting at US$429. Sales will begin on March 18th in several regions, including the U.S, U.K, Canada, France, Germany, India, China, Japan, and Australia. It can be pre-order from March 11th.

Color options that will be available are Midnight, Starlight, and Red.
