Moto G82 outs in Europe with 120Hz OLED screen, 5G Qualcomm chipset

Motorola today launched the moto G82 in Europe - a midranger with a beautiful OLED screen and a 5G Qualcomm chipset. The smartphone has a curved body design that is 8mm thick, weighing just 173 grams. Its back is made is made of plastic and it also has a plastic frame themed to match the overall design language.

As could be expected, the device is water-repellent as it is nano-coated. Let's go into the full details, at the front is a 6.6-inch Full HD+ (2400x1080) OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. The display is 100% DCI-P3 color calibrated and it has an aspect ratio of 20:9.

The firm did not reveal if the screen is scratch-resistant protected or if it has any glass protection. At the top of the screen is a tiny punch-hole where a 16MP (f/2.2) selfie camera is fitted. Apart from taking selfie, the camera can also be use to record 1080p video (@30fps).

Under the hood resides an octa-core Snapdragon 695 6nm processor running at a speed of 2.2GHz, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The later can be expanded via microSD card. Also, there are dedicated dual SIM slots onboard with dual standby.

Moving on, the Moto G82 has a small elevated island at the back where three different cameras are mounted. The main has a 50MP (f/1.8) sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), this is followed by an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide angle (118°) lens and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens. Unfortunately, none of the three can record 4k video.

At the right side of the phone are the volume keys and the power button that double-up as a fingerprint sensor, while the USB-C port and 3.5mm audio jack are located at the bottom. The Moto G82 have dual stereo speakers and it also supports NFC. Other connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Galileo, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual band).

The pre-installed Android 12 OS handles all software activities, while the hardware rely on a 5,000mAh battery for power. The battery can be fast-charge using the 30W charger bundled in the box.

The smartphone will be sold for €329.99 in Europe when it go on sale in the next few days. Availability is not restricted to Europe as Middle East, Asia, India, and Latin America will also be getting the device in the coming weeks. Color options are Gray and White.
