HONOR Pad 8 with 12-inch 2K display, 8 speakers silently unveiled

The HONOR Pad 8 gets unveiled earlier today unexpectedly without any funfair. It is an entry-level tablet that is tailored to meet the requirement of those that are looking for something sleek, slim, and mature for entertainment use. It supports only Wi-Fi; the firm is not expected to release an LTE version anytime soon.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 6nm chipset, paired with Adreno 610 GPU. This should be able to run some applications smoothly, although the processor is nothing but an old entry-level one, so you can expect hiccups in certain areas if loaded with applications that demanded something more powerful.

Photography is not the selling point either as there are only two mounted to it - a 5MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, both capable of recording 1080p videos only. Moving to the front, it comes with a 12-inch LCD screen with 2000x1200 pixel resolution and 350 nits brightness. The display is low blue light certified by TUV Rheinland, a plus nonetheless for night users.

The HONOR Pad 8 is jam packed with eight speakers tuned by Histen sound and DTS:X Ultra for immersive listening experience. Its body is made of metal, measuring just 6.9mm at its thickest point, while it weigh 520 grams. Running the show is Android 12-based Magic UI 6.1.

Apart from Wi-Fi, other connectivity present are Bluetooth 5, USB Type-C, and GPS. It is fuelled by a 7250mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.
