HONOR X40i budget 5G smartphone unveiled with 40W fast charging, Android 12


The HONOR X40i on Wednesday launched in China - a budget 5G smartphone pre-installed with Android 12-based Magic UI 6.1. It has a 6.7-inch LCD screen and it is powered by a Dimensity 700 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, paired with up to 12GB RAM.

The storage onboard is 128GB/256GB depending on the version, and there is a microSD slot included to expand it. At the back, the smartphone harbors dual camera system for photography. The main has a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, while the secondary 2MP depth camera is meant for taking portraits. Video recording is limited to 1080p, however.

The HONOR X40i has a punch-hole centered above the display that accommodates an 8MP selfie camera. The power button at its side double-up as a fingerprint sensor, and it also has a 3.5mm headphones jack for wire audio connection. It is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with 40W fast charging support.

The smartphone will be available from July 22nd in China with the price sets at CN¥1599 (US$237) for the 8GB/128GB version, CN¥1799 (US$267) for the 8GB/256GB version, and the CN¥1999 (US$297) for the 12GB/256GB version. Color options are Black, Rose, Silver, and Green.
